SYEP Program Aide

Job Type: Seasonal Full-Time, April through June
Program Overview

The Summer Youth Employment Program (SYEP) provides New York City youth ages 14 and 15 with Project-Based Learning Activities and ages 16 to 24 with Paid Summer Employment for six weeks in July and August. Participants work in a variety of entry-level jobs including:

  • Government Agencies

  • Hospitals

  • Summer Camps

  • Non-Profits

  • Small Businesses

  • Child Care Facilities

  • Senior Centers

  • Sports Enterprises

  • Retail Organizations

The following positions are available for clerical staff:

Intake/Document Checker

Responsible for retrieval and verification of eligibility documents from the selected participants. You must make sure all documents are valid, copied and put into individual participants folders

Enrollment Clerk

Responsible for the input of eligibility documents into the DYCD YEPS online database. Must double-check that all documents are valid, copied and in the individual participant folder

Hallway/Line Staff

Responsible for insuring that all participant lines, indoors and outdoors, are maintained in an orderly, organized and a welcoming fashion. Verify that the participants have all eligible documents prior to going on to the intake/document checker. Will also assist with accurately completing the I9 and W4 forms.
